About Me

Shannon Metzger, B.S | Birth and Postpartum Doula

Hi, thank you for visiting my about me! My name is Shannon, and I'd be honored to be considered as your doula. 

I obtained my bachelor's degree in healthcare administration and management at Colorado State University in the Spring of 2021. My first job after graduating was a position for a small home healthcare company in Bennington, VT. I spent 2 and a half years in this position, where I nurtured my passion for advocating for people of many different backgrounds and cultures. My passions evolved as time went on, and I became very interested in the current dialogue surrounding pregnant women and informed care in the United States. After delivering my own child in 2022, I knew I wanted to help other women create their own positive pregnancy and birth journeys through doula work. I received my training as a birth doula through DONA in June of 2023, and am continuously educating myself in order to offer the best quality doula care that I can. Since obtaining my doula training I have been part of home births, hospital births, birth center births, inductions, and medicated/non-medicated births. 

I am deeply passionate about helping every birthing person I work with feel informed and empowered in their decisions. I am supportive of any and all kind of births including but not limited to: home births, water births, vbacs, and more. No matter what you choose for your own birth journey, I will be by your side every step of the way. I will help you feel empowered in your choices, informed in every decision you make, medical or non-medical, and nurture your needs to ensure you can focus on your new motherhood journey.
